Orchid Administration
Orchid's administrative capabilities start with
a rigorous authentication process during login.
Each display and action is checked against the
user’s credentials to ascertain they have the
rights to complete that task. In addition, each
action a user makes that changes data in the
database is recognized in order to maintain
audit-and version-control.
Specific capabilities include:
Because data is run as one large database, all content considered data can be exported via a csv file. This type of content can include people, events, news articles, press releases, or any other "structured" content. (By structured we mean content that has a standard format like a recipe that can be entered via a form.) To learn about Orchid's focus on intelligence, please visit OrchidINTELLIGENCE.
Workflows and Roles
Orchid recently introduced Role Based Access Control (RBAC). Up until now, it has been possible to personalize a user's login and "turn off" links and tabs using the "Personalization" feature of Orchid. However, the user him or herself was not allowed to further personalize their own experience. Moreover, when a new staffer was created, that user had ultimate control by default. RBAC changes that.
Publishing Controls
Set content to publish and expire on specific dates.
Versioning
Orchid saves a copy of work that is done on templates and with CSS so the user can revert in case of error. It also saves images and documents. Generally, each action a user makes that changes data in the database is recognized in order to maintain audit-and version-control.
Session Management
Orchid keeps track of a user's activity across sessions of interaction with a browser.
Specific capabilities include:
- Intelligence and Reporting
- Workflow/Roles
- Publishing Controls
- Versioning
